People we have helped

Hayley Salmon - MyShubox.com

MYSHUBOX.COM is the online retail destination for luxury footwear and foot care and the first luxe e-commerce store in the UK to combine style with smart foot care.

At MYSHUBOX.COM, we offer women the opportunity to access luxury designs from recognised and emerging footwear brands alongside retailing indulgent foot care products and treatments to encourage health and wellbeing without diminishing style. I approached The Thomas Arneway Loans Trust for funding to assist with our website development and marketing costs. Part of the application process was meeting with the trustees. The idea of a Dragon's Den type drilling was a little daunting, however the trustees I met with were lovely, very thorough in their questioning but reassuring and helped me to feel at ease during the application interview.

I was successful in receiving the loan and since MYSHUBOX.COM has launched with a considered collection of luxury designer brands such as Alexander Wang, Liam Fahy Prism London along with pieces from Giambattista Valli and Alexandre Vauthier, exclusively available in the UK online at MYSHUBOX.COM.

Despite still being quite early in our journey, we are also pleased to announce that MYSHUBOX.COM has been nominated for a prestigious industry award in the best innovation in footwear category.

The Thomas Arneway Trust loan has helped tremendously along our start up journey.

Nigel Young - Euroart

We are a North London artist led art studio group providing affordable studios and workspaces for rent to artists, makers and creative practitioners.

Founded by professional visual artist Lorraine Clarke and space projects quality consultant Nigel Young in January 2002, Euroart was originally established in leased industrial premises on Tottenham High Road, a few doors from Spurs Football Club. In 2009, Spurs purchased the site for development of a new stadium and Euroart was summarily issued notice to quit. Consequently, two warehouse units at Gaunson House were leased on 20-year terms, 34 workspaces created and 30 artists relocated from the High Road premises. In August 2011 a third warehouse unit was leased and an additional 36 workspaces created. The current 70 workspaces have the potential to host up to 80 fine artists, makers and creative businesses.

Euroart is committed to bringing contemporary art practice to the local community. Through self-funding and/or grants, we deliver activities enabling people to participate in artistic and creative experiences, which can have transforming and lasting benefits. We have delivered creative workshops in the studios and across the borough. A number of collaborative projects with other local organisations have also been delivered, e.g. Bruce Castle Museum, West Green Learning Centre, Friends of Markfield Park and North London Chamber of Commerce.

Proactively managed, we promote the work of our residents and often source opportunities for them. Occasionally, we initiate projects with local organisations, bringing paid work to our resident creative practitioners. We also provide various business support services, i.e. organisation of open studios events, business mentoring and provision of information on business and network opportunities.

Euroart is a self-funded, not-for-profit, company limited by guarantee. We are not recipient of any core funding.

Becky Davey  - The London Particular

My dream to open my own restaurant was close to reality, if only I could obtain some all important funding.  Being a small business start-up with no previous ownership experience to demonstrate, this was not easy. Until I came across the Thomas Arneways Trust who have been providing small but vital loans to start-up businesses for literally hundreds of years.

I was successful in getting through their application process and obtained my loan.  I am pleased that report that my business "The London Particular" has now been open for four years and has gone from strength to strength.

The food we serve is a particular blend of hearty, English, well sourced food, embellished with distinct spices and flavours. Healthy, natural and impeccably tasty. .

We are open for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, dinner on Fri & Sat evenings and available for private dinners.
